Horse of the Day for Tuesday

Tuesday, November 14, 2006
Remington Park - Race 4
Maiden Claiming ($15,000)
2-year-old fillies
Purse $12,000

HAND ME THE GOLD was competitive on both dirt and turf to begin her career, then was in over her head when facing 2/5 three-time winner Wrenice in restricted stakes at Retama. She had absolutely no chance that day after being bumped hard from both sides soon after the break, and then being checked out of the running. Makes first start for Morse barn on Tuesday, and needn't be a star to reach the winner's circle. GRAEME'S MINT was bet hard for her debut in full field of 30K maiden claimers, but she didn't run a step, and then failed to pick up her feet in first start at this level three weeks later. She is eligible to show speed with the addition of blinkers, but the Milligan barn is 0-48 with only three ITM finishes over the last five years with juveniles adding blinkers (according to Formulator 4.1 stats). LADY LYNDON has lots of angles in her corner as she looms the dominant speed while halving in price for the important third start of the form cycle. She's quick from the gate, but was tiring very badly in the stretch of her most recent race. GOODNIGHT MARY would benefit from a quick pace up front. SEA SEARCH goes out for the leading barn, but has yet to gain ground from the stretch call to the wire. BABY LEXI took all the money for her debut for 30K, and disappointed badly.
