Horse of the day for Saturday

Churchill Downs - Race 7
1 1/8 Miles (Turf)
Maiden Special Weight

SWIZZLE INN is a half-brother to a Grade 3 turf winner by top grass sire Cozzene, and he finished well in his career debut sprinting on dirt. It's likely that grass and additional distance have been the main goals all along, and trainer Greg Foley does very well with babies trying turf for the first time (2-4, $4.10 ROI over the last five years according to Formulator 4.1 statistics). Swizzle Inn should get some pace to attack, and will be running late at a decent price. GLITTERBOY failed to take advantage of a speed-favoring sloppy track at Belmont last time out, and has yet to gain ground from the stretch call to the wire in his career. The son of Glitterman should be prominent when they turn for home, but there are distance concerns he'll have to address. SEDGEFIELD gets the Lasix and blinkers makeover for turf debut, and his full brother, English Channel, has already banked over $2.6M on the lawn. This one has every reason to improve off the surface switch. BULLARA is a half to a turf winner, and has faced such promising 2-year-olds as Nobiz Like Shobiz, Giant Chieftain, Pegasus Wind, and Unbridled Express on dirt this season. Like Glitterboy, he is trained by Todd Pletcher, and should be forwardly-placed going into the first turn. TOUCHDOWN PEYTON may show improved speed with the addition of blinkers.

The Selection: SWIZZLE INN to Win and Place (9-2 odds or more, turf only)
