B R'S GIRL gave a professional effort in her first start with blinkers as she was bottled up on the rail for most of the running, and was squeezed between horses in upper stretch. She finished well for the place, has the tactical speed to gain a good forward position going into the first turn, and is bred for grass success. The dam was a stakes-winner on dirt, but she earned a 103 Beyer Speed Figure in winning her turf debut. B R's Girl is coming out of a quick heat, and shouldn't be too far away when they turn for home.
ROYAL HUMOR's dam earned all nine of her lifetime victories on grass (including her turf debut) so the $270,000 May purchase should appreciate switching to the weeds. She drops back in with maidens after contesting the Barretts Debutante, and has valuable multi-turn experience. MASTERFUL MISS is by a young sire that is connecting with 23% of his first-time turf performers. She is a half-sister to Grade 1-placed turfer Hendrix, and boasts the two sprints to a route move that can be potent in maiden races. She has some speed, and shouldn't be ignored.
LA MINA's dam was stakes-placed on European sod, and she ran some good races on the Del Mar polytrack. She must deal with a tough outside post position, but should really appreciate stretching out in distance.
