7 Furlongs
Maiden Claiming ($25,000)
Fillies and mares, 4-year-olds and upward

FOREST SPRITE regressed significantly on the Beyer scale last time out, but she's put up some good numbers in the past, and may be cycling back to her best form as she makes the important third start following the layoff on Wednesday. She may need a more aggressive ride as there isn't much speed in the race, but she should appreciate stretching out to this 7 furlong distance.
KOKOPELLI TRAIL has some angles in her corner as she takes a huge drop in class, goes turf to dirt, and will make the second start of the form cycle. She was no match for Darley's 4-5 favorite Votsi on grass last time out, and she fits snugly from a Beyer perspective at this level. MADERA ROYAL figures to take a good deal of money as she ran second last time out in her first race in 11 months. She has these over a barrel from a speed figure standpoint, but may not offer value, and she did fail at 3-10 odds last time. MOG isn't the most trustworthy runner in the world, and she's already had plenty of chances to break her maiden to no avail. She has some speed, and may attempt to control the tempo from the start given an alert break.
