PREACHIN HEAT was outsprinted in the early stages of his most recent start, but finished gamely to defeat a pair of next-out winners. Experience counts in these maiden races for juveniles, and the son of multiple juvenile stakes-winner Makin Heat (154K, all wins at two) seems well-spotted in this heat.
GOLDEN VISION has some class in his pedigree, and shows a sharp five-furlong workout in preparation for his career debut. The dam is a three-quarter sister to stakes-winning sprinter Creaseinherjeans (all wins sprinting, 128K in earnings). PETER'S CREEK couldn't finish with the top selection in his debut, but the early pace was very fast that day, and the gelded son of Louis Quatorze was up on those hot fractions throughout. You'll know him early in this spot.
SHOE FREAK MARLENE passed some tired horses in his career debut, and should benefit from that experience. He has to make up a couple of lengths on the top selection and Peter's Creek, however. There is tons of blacktype in ELYSIUM FIELDS' pedigree, and trainer Barclay Tagg is certainly capable of getting a firster into the winner's circle. Note the bullet works, but this colt may want a bit more ground.
