Hoosier track report

The Hoosier Park meet enters its last full week with the trainers' race up for grabs and Ralph Martinez attempting to win his third straight title. He leads Barb McBride by a 36-34 margin entering the week.

Martinez has moved into second on the list of all-time wins at this track with 167. Gary Patrick, third in the current standings with 20 wins, and the all-time leader with 188, registered a triple last Thursday and continues to send out a large number of starters each night.

In the jockey standings, Rodney Prescott registered riding doubles on four nights last week, boosting his lead over Roberto Villafan to 72-63 in a race that could still come down to the wire.

Following this week's racing, the track closes out with a Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday schedule to finish the 60-day stand. Thanksgiving Day post time will be 11 a.m. Eastern, the only daylight card of the season.

* Gerause lowered the five-furlong track record Thursday evening when he covered the distance in 57.73 seconds to win a $5,000 claimer. The five-furlong distance was instituted during the 2004 season and is infrequently used.

Last Saturday, Anthem Hill captured the latest leg of the claiming marathon series at another infrequently run distance, 1 9/16 miles. He won by 15 3/4 lengths.
