Hoosier Park track report


Greg Schaefer won his 1,500th career race last Thursday night aboard Halo's Song in the eighth race.

Schaefer and several members of the riding colony gathered for a group picture following the win and on Saturday night he was presented the Shout's Sports Pub & Eatery jockey of the week award. He closed out the weekend with a riding double on Sunday, moving into seventh in the standings with 15 wins.

* Rodney Prescott scored four wins Sunday night to cut Roberto Villafan's lead in the rider standings to 35-33 entering this week. Prescott got his first win of the night aboard Devil's Babydoll ($22.20) in the fifth race. He then scored with Pass Due ($5.40) in the eighth, Magic Twinkle ($4.20) in the 10th, and Chili Red ($7.80) in the 12th. Prescott is ranked second nationally this year with 273 wins from 1,567 mounts. He trails only Russell Baze, who leads the way with 303 wins.
