Hoosier Park track report

ANDERSON, Ind. - Marv Johnson added his name last Saturday night to the ever-growing list of trainers to saddle three winners on a card at Hoosier Park. He is the 10th trainer to accomplish the feat and the second this year. No trainer has ever won more than three races on a Hoosier card since the track opened in 1994.

All three of Johnson's starters won on Saturday, and he swept the early daily double, which paid $378.40. Houston Launch won her second straight race at the meet, returning $14. Coning Eston, running for a $5,000 maiden claiming tag, lit up the board with a $61.40 payoff in the second.

Saintemerald ($4.60), also winning for the second time at the meet, capped off Johnson's day with a 7 3/4-length win in the sixth race.

R.D. Williams was aboard for all three of Johnson's wins and picked up his fourth winner of the night aboard Shadow Mountain ($8.60) for leading trainer Ralph Martinez. Williams is riding regularly in Indiana for the first time.

Williams finished third in the Thoroughbred standings at the recently concluded mixed meet at Prairie Meadows in Iowa.

Martinez posted doubles on Wednesday and Saturday to maintain his 12-9 lead over Johnson in the trainer standings.
