Email

Pass the Crown was all out to hold on late and win the $84,000 Brickyard at Hoosier Park on Saturday.

Under jockey Chris Emigh, the 3-year old Indiana-bred took command in midstretch and began to draw clear in late stretch. Emigh went to work, and Pass the Crown would not let Liepers Fork, under Orlando Mojica, past in late stretch, holding on to win by a neck. Our Rock Star was two lengths back in third after setting the early pace.

Pass the Crown, part of the MC Roberts Racing Stable entry and trained by Merrill Roberts, ran the six furlongs over a fast track in 1.10.40. He returned $21.60 to win.

Eskimo’s Best rallied along with the winner on the turn, but could not keep up, finishing second by a nose over Whistlin Jean, part of the Penny Lauer entry.
