Dreamin Big won her fourth consecutive race in the $87,000 Merrillville Stakes at Hoosier Park on Saturday.

Dreamin Big was kept back off the early pace in the six-furlong sprint. Jockey Francisco Torres moved the 4-year-old filly to the rail in upper stretch and she went to the lead, with her final margin of victory over her seven Indiana-bred rivals being three-quarters of a length.

Slim Shady’s Lady led to late stretch, could not go with the winner, but finished five lengths in front of third-place finisher Linda's Lace.

Trained by Mike Lauer, Dreamin Big ran the six furlongs over a fast track in 1.10.87 and returned $3.60 to win.

Brickyard Stakes: Scatterfield scores by three lengths

Scatterfield, under Terry Thompson, drew off to win the Brickyard in the second of two Indiana-bred stakes at Hoosier Park on Saturday.

Thompson kept the 4-year-old on the inside and he rallied into the stretch to win by three lengths. Pass the Crown was second, a half-length in front of Unreachable Star in third.

Scatterfield is trained by Ralph Martinez for Swifty Farm. The running time of the six-furlong Brickyard was 1.10.65 over a fast track. Scatterfield returned $17.40 to win.
