Matrix Of Luck now has a pair of victories in Indiana Sires Stakes finals this year

Matrix Of Luck rallied by the leaders in the stretch to claim the $75,000 Indiana Sires Stakes final for 3-year-old pacing colts on Saturday night at Hoosier Park in 1:50 4/5.

Driver Ricky Macomber Jr. hustled Matrix Of Luck to the top just past the 26 4/5 opening quarter, but he would give way to favored Duel Of Truth (John De Long), who was then overhauled by Bourbon Chase (Dan Shetler) at the 54 1/5 half.  Uncmprmising Z Tam (LeWayne Miller) then took up the first-over chase, getting to within about a length of Bourbon Chase at the 1:22 2/5 three-quarters.

In the stretch Macomber Jr. angled Matrix Of Luck to the outside, briefly drafted in behind Uncmprmising Z Tam, and then brought his charge to the far outside.  From there, Matrix Of Luck paced into the lead and the win by a length and a quarter over Duel Of Truth, who had gotten stuck behind Bourbon Chase and Uncmprmising Z Tam, and the passing lane became available too late for him to catch the winner.  Bourbon Chase wound up third.

Ron Burke trains the victorious Rockin Image colt for owners Burke Racing Stable LLC., Frank Baldachino, Brian Carsey, and John McGill.  Matrix Of Luck now has ten victories from 22 career starts, and he pushed his bankroll to $342,625.  Dispatched at 5-1, Matrix Of Luck paid $12.60 to win.
