Hoosier: Maggie's Dream still perfect

Email

ANDERSON, Ind. - Maggie's Dream stayed perfect this year with her fourth win in the $42,500 Richmond Stakes and Imageofhope won the $43,100 Gus Grissom. The two Hoosier Park 1 1/16-mile races are for Indiana-breds sired by registered Indiana stallions - the Richmond for fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up, the Grissom for males.

Maggie's Dream sprinted to a commanding early lead and was given a breather up the backstretch. As the field closed in nearing the far turn, she moved clear again and ran away to a 17 3/4-length win. The 4-5 choice in a field of six, Maggie's Dream won her third straight stakes race and lifted her lifetime record to 7-3-0 in 15 starts, with earnings of more than $155,000.

Imageofhope rallied from slightly off the pace to score a $31.20 upset in his first stakes win. Imageofhope finished 1 3/4 lengths clear of last year's winner, J D's Diamond.
