Hollywood: Wonderful Luck, easily


The highly regarded Wonderful Luck won Sunday's $77,775 Cinderella Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at Hollywood Park under a hand ride from jockey David Flores.

Closing from eighth, Wonderful Luck ($3.40) swept past her rivals with a wide move on the turn, reached the front with a sixteenth remaining, and won comfortably by 2 3/4 lengths over Another Aleyna. Affirmed Cat, a 43-1 outsider, finished third.

Wonderful Luck ran 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:06.48. Owned by Vinery Stables, she has won 2 of 3 starts and $87,436.

Winning trainer Steve Asmussen said that Wonderful Luck would make her next start in the $100,000 Landaluce Stakes here on June 30.

In the $82,825 Willard Proctor Memorial Stakes, the day's first stakes for 2-year-olds, Thoroughly ($12) rallied from last in the final three furlongs to win by 1 3/4 lengths.

Ridden by Corey Nakatani for trainer Peter Miller, Thoroughly ran 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:05.71. Run Brother Run, a 24-1 shot who set the pace and led by as many as 3 1/2 lengths, held second, finishing 1 3/4 lengths in front of the 2-1 favorite, Bold Trust, a maiden.
