Willa B Awesome, all-out to win Saturday's Melair, may race once more at Hollywood Park before taking the summer off.

Willa B Awesome, who won her third stakes of 2012 in Saturday’s $300,000 Melair Stakes for California-bred 3-year-old fillies, might make one more start at Betfair Hollywood Park's meeting before a summertime break.

Co-owner Terry Lovingier and trainer Walther Solis said on Sunday they are debating whether to start Willa B Awesome in the $150,000 Hollywood Oaks on June 23. One thing seems certain. Willa B Awesome will be rested for 30 to 60 days at Lovingier’s Southern California ranch soon.

“We are going to skip Del Mar,” Solis said on Sunday. “We’ll see how she does. Last night, she ate all her dinner. Today, she was happy. She wasn’t dull. She was bright.”

Willa B Awesome won the Melair Stakes by a nose over the previously unbeaten Starry Skies, who was making her stakes debut. The two fillies ran together for the final three furlongs. Willa B Awesome has won 5 of 13 starts and $593,896 in a career that has been going nonstop since April 2011.

“We started her off a year ago,” Lovingier said. “I want to give her a little rest. Look at what she’s done. She’s an iron horse.”
