INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Tiz Flirtatious remained perfect after three starts with a comfortable win in her stakes debut in Sunday’s $85,800 Cat’s Cradle Handicap at Hollywood Park.

Ridden by Joel Rosario, Tiz Flirtatious ($5.60) closed from fourth in a field of nine California-bred females to win by 1 1/2 lengths over Chokecherymary, an 11-1 shot. Chokecherymary was eighth for the first half-mile and closed well through the stretch. California Nectar, part of a sharp pace duel with Salty Sarah through fractions of 22.42 and 45.43 seconds, held third. Salty Sarah faded to finish sixth.

Tiz Flirtatious, sent off favored, ran 7 1/2 furlongs in 1:29.33.

“She had a good trip, but she makes her own luck,” trainer Marty Jones said. “She knows what she wants to do.”

Tiz Flirtatious is owned by breeder Pam Ziebarth. A 3-year-old filly by Tizbud, Tiz Flirtatious has earned $116,800. She beat maidens at Santa Anita on Oct. 2 and won an allowance race there on Oct. 29 in her first start against winners.

Jones said that Tiz Flirtatious is likely to make her next start in a graded stakes at Santa Anita – the $300,000 La Brea Stakes over seven furlongs on Dec. 31 or the $150,000 La Canada Stakes over 1 1/16 miles on Jan. 22.
