Hollywood Park: Really Mr Greeley heads Baffert 1-2-3-4 in Prevue
Email
INGLEWOOD, Calif. – Really Mr Greely, the longest shot in a field of five, led throughout Thursday’s $100,000 Hollywood Prevue Stakes at Betfair Hollywood Park, leading to a sweep of the first four positions in the field of five for trainer Bob Baffert.
Baffert also started Super Ninety Nine (4-5 favorite), Shakin It Up, and Z Big Apple, who finished second through fourth. Heir Kitty, a filly trained by Peter Miller, finished last after racing just behind the leaders until midstretch.
Really Mr Greely ($24.60) set fractions of 22.74 and 46.31 seconds under jockey Julien Leparoux. Really Mr Greely held off a late threat from Super Ninety Nine to win by a half-length. He ran seven furlongs in 1:22.84.
“He broke sharp,” Leparoux said. “I wanted to be on the lead. They left me alone.”
Leparoux said that Really Mr Greely benefited when he was able to put a bit of distance on the chasing pack on the turn. Really Mr Greely led by a length after a half-mile and by 1 1/2 lengths with a furlong remaining.
Really Mr Greely, by Horse Greely, has won 2 of 3 starts and $85,620 for owners Mike Pegram, Karl Watson, and Paul Weitman. A colt, Really Mr Greely won a $100,000 claiming race for maidens over six furlongs on Nov. 4 in his second start.
That horse that won this race should of been named: "IsItInGood"

I trust Baffert about as far as I can throw his refrigerator.

Shakin it up should have won... What a bad ride by Garcia... SHM!!! Did anyone see the filly Fiftyshadesofhay run??? She looked really good. Big strong filly. Defenitely one to watch...

Why was David Flores taken off shakin it up, i hope bob baffert puts him back aboard.

Got a good note on ..............Shakin It Up

Always think it's silly that owners must run coupled but trainers do not, as if an owner would be more likely to control the outcome than the trainer.
Not saying that happened here, but clearly they were to leave Greely alone on the lead and the filly was first to go and put pressure on, and the longshot wins.
0 for 9 on Breeders Cup weekend
1 for 4 in the Prevue.

They should have run this race as a betless exhibition...Baffert had too much control of how he wanted his horses to be ridden..It is too inside...

BB has everyone scared off

GHOSTLY APPEAL has been on the sidelines for more than nine months. She'll be hard to deny on the drop from $12,500 N2L to $5,000 N2L if she's ready to roll in her return. WINTER ROCKET made up ground late, but still finished in the rear-half of the pack when she was overmatched against Louisiana-bred $12,500 N2L's in her return from a freshening. She'll be a factor in the exotics on the class drop to open $5,000 N2L. SHE'S BONAFIDE didn't show as much early speed as usual, then rallied to challenge for the lead.
