Hollywood Park: Pick six hit by one bettor for $323K

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - The pick six paid $323,801 at Betfair Hollywood Park on Friday, the first day of the final weekend of live racing in track history. There was one winning ticket.

On a gorgeous late autumn day, with temperatures in the low 60s, bettors added $457,156 to the pool in pursuit of a carryover of $79,599 from last Sunday.

The winners of Friday’s pick six races, beginning in the third race, were Julio’s Gold ($8.20), Candiz ($21.40), Scorcher ($7), Rock Off ($14.60), Oscillator ($7.80), and World Famous Sam T ($82).

The upset win by World Famous Sam T has led to a carryover of $24,433 in Saturday’s super high five in the 11th race.

Racing continues with 11-race programs on Saturday and Sunday. Santa Anita opens its winter-spring meeting on Thursday.

It is terrible we are losing Hollywood Park, but I think once people get down to Los Alamitos and see how much fun the place is, live on track will begin to bloom in the OC. Its a fun place, lots of room, easy access, plus a great club, The Vessels Club, dinning, drinking, lots of monitors, the racing will flourish ! Watch !

Somebody is having a wonderful Christmas and a great story to tell the grandchildren on Hollwood Park. It is a sin that a great place like HP is being torn down by the wrecking ball. The Shoe, Charlie, Marge and a plethora of others must be up in heaven wondering what the heck are we doing down here with this great game. Closing HP is equal to closing Yankee Stadium in baseball. This game is crumbling before our eyes. Who will have the wherewithal to lead us out of the Abyss. Something must be done or travesties like the closing of HP will continue throughout the country.

Hey Steve - How about asking HOW MUCH the ticket cost.....HPark knows the COST of the winning ticket at the same time they know there was only 1 winning ticket.

Excellent question Roger....Ticket cost and where was it played are usually always disclosed. Kory Owens probably hit it.....who else would have used Kayla in the last.
