INGLEWOOD, Calif. – There is a pick-six carryover at Betfair Hollywood Park of $130,527 for Sunday’s nine-race program. Going into the last race Saturday, there were two horses in a maiden claimer for sprinters who could have prevented a carryover. Royal Weekend finished fifth, and Secret Memo was ninth. Sunday’s pick six covers the fourth through ninth races on a program that begins at 1 p.m. Pacific. There also is a carryover of $31,988 in the super high five, held on the ninth race. The pool of new money for Sunday’s pick six could reach $750,000. The pick-six races have good-sized fields with 8, 9, 10, 8, 9, and 10 runners. The day’s top race is the $70,000 Desert Stormer Handicap for fillies and mares over six furlongs. For a race with a modest purse, the Desert Stormer field includes two Grade 1 winners trained by Ron Ellis – Include Me Out and Teddy’s Promise. There were scratches Saturday for Sunday’s sixth and ninth races. In the sixth race, run over six furlongs for $35,000-to-$40,000 claimers, Maquina and La Mano Nera will not start. In the ninth race, Awfully Lucky is withdrawn from a $14,000-to-$16,000 claimer for non-winners of two races over seven furlongs. Teddy’s Promise is 2-1 on the morning line, the shortest price for the pick-six races.
