INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Made to Love Her won her first stakes in Sunday’s $100,000 Moccasin Stakes at Hollywood Park in a style that suggested she can be effective around two turns.

Ridden by Rafael Bejarano, Made to Love Her was fourth in the field of five 2-year-old fillies on the backstretch. Bejarano guided Made to Love Her three-wide on the turn, and she took the lead before the eighth pole. Through the stretch, Made to Love pulled clear quickly and drew off to win by four lengths. She finished seven furlongs in 1:23.88.

Evelyn’s Dancer, last early as the 16-1 longest shot in the field, finished second, a head in front of 8-5 favorite Eva’s Joy. Woebegon was fourth, followed by Lady Hokulea.

Made to Love Her, by Stevie Wonderboy, has won 2 of 6 starts and $113,960. Owned by Penny Copper Stable, Made to Love Her beat maidens in her fifth start, at Santa Anita on Oct. 23.

In August, Made to Love Her finished third in a maiden race over a mile on turf, her only start around two turns.

Sunday’s win left trainer James Kasparoff contemplating a start in the $250,000 Hollywood Starlet over 1 1/16 miles on Dec. 10, despite a $10,000 supplemental entry fee.

“She’d have to be supplemented, but we’ll take a look,” he said. “I wanted to run her seven furlongs. I thought it would be an excellent distance and the timing was perfect.

“She got an excellent trip and ran fantastic.”
