INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Killer Graces rallied from last in a field of six to catch the longshot Mighty Caroline in the final strides in Saturday’s $100,000 Landaluce Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at Hollywood Park.

Killer Graces ($6) ran six furlongs in 1:11.23. Ridden by Joe Talamo, Killer Graces was fifth on the turn and rallied wide through the stretch to win by a half-length over Mighty Caroline. Stayclassysandiego finished third, another 3 3/4 lengths back, followed by even-money favorite Woebegon.

Woebegon led on the backstretch, but was passed by 17-1 Mighty Caroline after the first furlong. Mighty Caroline led by two lengths from the quarter pole to the eighth pole.

Killer Graces is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. A filly by Congaree, Killer Graces has won 2 of 3 starts. After losing her debut by a nose, she won for the first time in her career in the Cinderella Stakes on June 11.

Less than 10 minutes after Killer Graces’s victory, the Hollendorfer-trained champion Blind Luck won a thrilling running of the Delaware Handicap against Havre de Grace.
