INGLEWOOD, Calif. – Iotapa, claimed for $50,000 in a maiden race last June, rallied wide under red-hot jockey Joe Talamo to win Sunday’s $74,920 Railbird Stakes at Betfair Hollywood Park.

Talamo swept the three weekend stakes at Hollywood Park. On Saturday, he won the $150,250 Marjorie Everett Handicap on Open Water and the $100,500 Fran’s Valentine Stakes on Unusual Hottie.

Iotapa ($4.80) was favored in the Railbird Stakes for 3-year-old fillies over seven furlongs. By Afleet Alex,Iotapa was fourth on the backstretch and rallied wide on the turn to take the lead in the stretch. She won by 1 1/4 lengths over Ciao Bella Luna.

“She was loaded,” Talamo said. “I just had to point her in the right direction. I think we’ll have some fun with her this summer.”

Iotapa ran seven furlongs in 1:23.40. Hail Mary, who set the early pace of 22.70 and 45.70 seconds, finished third in the field of six.

Iotapa races for Kosta Hronis and trainer John Sadler.

After being claimed last June in a race she won, she was sidelined with a hairline fracture in a cannon bone. She returned to racing at Santa Anita earlier this year, winning an optional claimer over six furlongs and finishing second to Beholder in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Oaks.

Iotapa has won 3 of 4 starts and $155,490. She is a candidate for the $150,000 Hollywood Oaks over 1 1/16 miles June 22, Sadler said.
