Hollywood Hit went right to the front the Grade 3 event and set wind-aided fractions of 22.08 and 43.72 while being stalked by Fatal Bullet, the 2008 Canadian Horse of the Year and champion sprinter.

Hollywood Hit began to draw clear in the final furlong en route to a three-length win in 1:20.07, a time that was .44 faster than the previous record, set by Disfunction in 2008. Fatal Bullet, the 2-1 favorite, wound up second, and Signature Red outran 2009 Vigil winner Field Commission for third in the quality seven-horse field.

Jockey Jim McAleney said Hollywood Hit was comfortable while setting the pace. "I was very confident because of the way he got those middle splits," said McAleney. "He has a high cruising speed."

Hollywood Hit banked $90,000 in his second stakes victory this year. He is owned by Peter Redekop and trained by Terry Jordan.
