Hollywood carryover tops $1.1 million

INGLEWOOD, Calif.-Hollywood Park has a massive three-day carryover of $1,197,009 on Saturday, a day that features the most lucrative purses of the meeting.

The 11-race program, which begins at noon, features two $750,000 races - the Grade 2 CashCall Mile and Grade 1 American Oaks. There are two other Grade 1 races - the Triple Bend Handicap and Vanity Handicap.

Saturday's pick six covers the sixth through 11th races, and includes three stakes.

The sixth race is a maiden special weight race for California-breds over six furlongs that has 10 runners. It is followed by the CashCall Mile on turf, which has a field of seven led by Ventura and Lady of Venice.

The eighth race is an allowance over 6 1/2 furlongs for fillies and mares. Tizsweetdreams, drawn on the outside, will be a lukewarm favorite.

The $750,000 American Oaks has the biggest field of the pick six races, with 12 3-year-old fillies. Pure Clan, from Kentucky, and the European invader Carribean Sunset are the leading contenders.

Street Boss will be favored in the Triple Bend over seven furlongs, the 10th race. It has drawn seven runners.

The final race is a maiden race for fillies and mares over 1 1/16 miles on turf. Surprises Welcomed and Wicked Delight lead a field of 10.
