Hollye Lynne goes for four in row

Hollye Lynne could have a tactical advantage Saturday when she chases her fourth straight win in a $30,000 allowance for Texas-bred fillies and mares at Lone Star Park. She looks like the controlling speed in the one-mile turf race off three consecutive sprint starts.

Hollye Lynne's streak started in a $12,500 claiming race at Fair Grounds in March from which she was taken by N 2 Win Racing and trainer Bret Calhoun. Hollye Lynne then turned up at Lone Star and wired a $15,000 claiming race April 10 and a $20,000 optional claiming allowance May 1. She earned a career-high Beyer Figure of 90 for both Lone Star races.

"My only regret about her is that we didn't take her a couple of years ago," Calhoun said.

Hollye Lynne, a 6-year-old who is a multiple winner at a mile, will be returning to turf for the first time in about a year. She has won twice on grass.

"I think she's really versatile," Calhoun said. "I know she's done it in the past, and I don't see why she wouldn't do it now."

Bobby Walker Jr. has the mount.
