Hollendorfer sweeps both divisions of stakes

STOCKTON, Calif. - Double Action ($3) and Another Kris ($4.60) won both divisions, giving trainer Jerry Hollendorfer and jockey Russell Baze a sweep of the first running of the Forrest White Stakes at the San Joaquin County Fair on Sunday.

Odds-on Double Action won the first division by three lengths over Super Image, running 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:03.16.

Another Kris, battling on the pace from the deeper inside, stuck his head in front of Something Sonic in the stretch and inched ahead to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:03.61.

Double Action broke alertly but settled in fourth in the field of six. He stayed wide and in the clear on the turn, angling out even farther into the stretch, putting his head in front of Super Image, who disposed of Crayon Red early and then fought off the challenge of eventual third-place finisher Corredor Del Oro.

Another Kris was inside Something Sonic and Acquire the Fire down the backstretch and on the turn. He and Something Sonic drifted out to the better part of the track through the stretch as he won the stretch-long duel.

Double Action, who previously won the Golden Bear on May 6 at Golden Gate Fields, earned $25,880 for his victory in the $49,968 race to lift his career total to $116,670 with 4 wins in 11 starts.

Another Kris earned his first stakes victory and fourth win in six starts. He earned $25,880 from the $52,667 purse to put his lifetime earnings at $78,130.
