Hill 'n' Dale adjusts fees for 2012

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Hill ‘n’ Dale Farm here will raise the fees of two stallions, Stormy Atlantic and Indygo Shiner, for 2012, but also is trimming fees for three of its stallions, including champion Midnight Lute.

The farm will bump Stormy Atlantic from $30,000 to $40,000 for the coming breeding season, and Indygo Shiner will rise from $7,500 to $10,000. Stormy Atlantic currently ranks 10th on North America’s general sire list by progeny earnings and fifth by turf earnings, thanks in large measure to the success of his grass-running son Get Stormy, winner of this year’s Grade 1 Woodford Reserve Turf Classic and Maker’s Mark Mile. Stormy Atlantic’s other graded winners this year include Stormy Lord, California Nectar, and Mighty Caroline, He also sired course record-setting stakes-winner Stormy Dixie.

Indygo Shiner’s runners this year are led by Grade 1 winner Miss Match.

Hill ’n’ Dale will cut the fees for third-year stallion Zensational, who falls from $22,500 to $20,000; Midnight Lute, who goes from $17,500 to $15,000; and El Corredor, who drops from $12,500 to $10,000.

The rest of the Hill ’n’ Dale roster will carry the same fees they had in 2011, as follows: Concord Point, $7,500; Harlington, $7,500; Misremembered, $7,500; and Roman Ruler, $15,000.

The farm will offer a 10-percent discount for breeders paying their fees on or before Nov. 15, 2012, but that deal does not apply to Harlington. All stud fees are on stands-and-nurses terms.
