Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms in Lexington, Ky., released its 2013 stallion roster along with stud fees on Friday, and lowered fees for six of its eight returning stallions, including Stormy Atlantic and Zensational.
Stormy Atlantic, 11th on the North American general sire list, will stand for $30,000 in 2013, down from $40,000 this year. His top runners in 2012 include Grade 1 winners Get Stormy and Next Question.
Zensational will stand for $15,000 in 2013, down from $20,000. The first foals for Zensational, a 6-year-old son of Unbridled’s Song, will race next year.
Hill ‘n’ Dale will add Maclean’s Music to its 2013 roster at a fee of $6,500. A 4-year-old son of Distorted Humor, he won his only start by 7 1/4 lengths at Santa Anita Park in March 2011, registering a Beyer Speed Figure of 114, the highest recorded by a debut winner. He was retired by owner-breeder Stonestreet Stables last month because of complications from the removal of a ruptured splint bone.
The remainder of Hill ‘n’ Dale’s 2013 roster with fees payable when the foal stands and nurses (with 2012 fees if changed): Concord Point, $7,500; Harlington, $3,500 ($7,500); Indygo Shiner, $8,500 ($10,000); Midnight Lute, $15,000; Misremembered, $5,000 ($7,500); and Roman Ruler, $10,000 ($15,000).
