Highest hits road for Godolphin

Godolphin will have its first runner of the year outside of the UAE on Friday when Highest contests the 1 1/2-mile, Group 2 Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket.

Frankie Dettori will ride Highest, a 4-year-old son of Selkirk who finished seventh behind Sulamani in the Dubai Sheema Classic on March 29. Before that he won the Group 3 Dubai City of Gold on March 8. Bandari, winner of the Group 2 Great Voltigeur Stakes last August, will be difficult to turn back, even though he is making his seasonal debut. He is trained by Mark Johnston.

Warrsan, recent winner of the 1 1/2-mile, Group 3 John Porter Stakes, poses a threat, but 7-year-old Zindabad, 14th last time in the Sheema Classic, may be past his best.

* Fair Mix suffered a bone chip to his left rear leg while winning the Group 1 Prix Ganay at Longchamp on Sunday. He will undergo arthroscopic surgery on Tuesday and will be out of training for two months.
