High Resolve eyes Sunshine Millions Oaks

High Resolve had no trouble staying unbeaten and basically untested in four career starts when she won the $45,000 Arizona Juvenile Fillies at Turf Paradise on Dec. 29. Owned by Harry Aleo and trained by Greg Gilchrist, the Northern California-based filly will try the $250,000 Sunshine Millions Oaks at Gulfstream Park in her next start, on Jan. 26. The Sunshine Millions is an eight-race program pitting California-breds against Florida-breds, and is run concurrently at Gulfstream and Santa Anita.

The 3-year-old filly has won her four career starts by nine lengths, seven lengths, 5 1/4 lengths, and two lengths. She has drawn comparisons to the same connections' champion sprinter, Lost in the Fog, the ill-fated Eclipse Award winner who set a track record when he won the Arizona Juvenile here in 2004.

"She's kind of like Lost in the Fog," Gilchrist said. "She's so fast she finds herself on the lead. I couldn't get Lost in the Fog to rate, and I don't think it will work with her, either."
