Hefty stud fee for Redoute's Choice

Redoute's Choice, whose progeny helped push Australia's recent Inglis Easter yearling sale to new records, will stand for an Australian record Aus$275,000 this season. In United States currency, that will be about $204,930 and is up from his 2005 fee of Aus$220,000.

Arrowfield Stud in New South Wales stands 10-year-old Redoute's Choice, a son of Danehill and the unraced Canny Lad mare Shantha's Choice.

Redoute's Choice was the sire of six of the Easter sale's 14 million-dollar lots, including an Aus$3 million colt that set a new Australian yearling record for price; his price in United States terms was about $212,738. Redoute's Choice yearlings averaged approximately $524,435. His runners include Australian juvenile champion Fashions Afield and Australian Group 1 winners Stratum, Miss Finland, Lotteria, Snitzel, and others.
