Heaven on Hold upsets at Hastings

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Heaven On Hold paid $32.50 for her upset win in the $50,335 Brighouse Belles at Hastings on Sunday.

With Fernando Perez aboard, Heaven On Hold broke sharply and then led at every call of the 6 1/2-furlong feature. Trained by Troy Taylor, Heaven On Hold set honest fractions of 21.94 and 45.25, while on her way to posting a final time of 1:17.54

Littlemiss Allison broke on top, but Heaven On Hold was gunned to the lead early and never looked back. Littlemiss Alisson stalked the pace and then tired to finish third. Blue Sky Holiday made a late move to finish a clear second.

Heaven On Hold is trained by Troy Taylor, who won three races on the card.

On Saturday, Seminole Brave won the $50,000 George Royal Stakes by 1 1/4 lengths over True Metropolitan. Ridden by Ismael Mosqueira, Seminole Brave forced the early pace set by Spaghetti Mouse, took over the lead at the quarter pole, and then held off True Metropolitan in the stretch. Codio made a threatening move around the stretch turn, but then hung in the stretch to finish third.

Final time for the 6 1/2 furlongs was 1:16.76. Trained by Mel Snow, Seminole Brave paid $20.10 to win.
