HBPA meeting in Toronto

The National Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association is holding its summer convention through Sunday at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel in downtown Toronto.

Key topics to be addressed at the convention include wagering security and the National Thoroughbred Racing Association's dues structure. Panel workshops will include a discussion on advance deposit wagering.

Committee meetings will focus on issues such as benefits, insurance, and medication.

A full board meeting will be held Sunday, with the election of national officers and the executive committee the main order of business.
