The purse for the Indian Maid Handicap, a 1 1/16-mile turf race for older fillies and mares Oct. 11, was recently increased from $100,000 to $150,000 and is now part of the Breeders' Cup special stakes program. The race's new name will be the Indian Maid Breeders' Cup Handicap.

* Saturday's featured overnight stakes, the $40,000-added Kissapotamus for older fillies and mares going six furlongs, is likely to attract a small field. Among those under consideration are multiple stakes winner Smoke Chaser and Abundantly Blessed, second in the Grade 3 Chaposa Springs at Calder last December.

* Michael Reavis padded his lead in the trainer standings, saddling three winners from as many starters on Tuesday's card. Through Tuesday, Reavis had won 19 races with 46 starters and had won at least one race on each of the first 14 days of the meet.

* Jockey Cruz Contreras, 22, registered the first win of his career aboard Kick It in Gear in the first race March 14.
