Harrah's Philly: Sunday 9/7 Analysis

Race 7 - $5,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Race 1

(3) SOMESIZESOMESTYLE paced a 1:21 final three quarters last time and seems to be reaching his peak form for trainer Ron Burke. (1) MATTAMERICAN has proven speed and figures to be using it from the inside. (2) SOME PLAYA gets Sears in the bike and looms an longshot player in the exotics.

Race 2

(4) ITS THAT TIME was used hard in his debut for this barn and paid the price late. New driver Ron Pierce should have an easier time on the engine this week. (2) GUNS AN ROSES is back in the Oakes barn where he won three starts back. (6) M K G gets a hot driver in the bike and could wake up at a price.

Race 3

(3) HARLEY MOMMA has missed some time with sickness but qualified back well. She is the most talented filly in the race. (4) HIGHEST PEAK should be on the go early and prove a tough competitor. (2) BIKINI SO TEENY is capable with a top effort.

Race 4

(4) SCOTT ROCKS gets some serious class relief and should bring a big effort. (3) VERDAD drops a notch and won his only start over the track this year. (8) CRAVEN THE BEACH has been in form for some time now; maybe.

Race 5

(2) UVA HANOVER should sit no worse than second and get the job done in the lane. (8) AMPED UP HANOVER figures to be amped up from the start. Can he fire off the gate and last in the stretch? (4) AUSPICIOUS HANOVER gets class relief but still needs a top effort to menace the top two.

Race 6

(5) COLBY JATE is razor sharp and deserves the call. (4) MICKEY HANOVER had no shot from post eight in the Cup & Saucer. This spot is easier. (7) BETTORS GLASS could get a decent piece with a smooth trip.

Race 7

(4) TYRA has proven capable at this level in the past and has a reasonable chance at the upset. (5) KATIE SAID is as sharp as can be and clearly the one to beat. (1) GALLIE BYTHE BEACH has been a huge disappointment this year but still merits a look against this group.

Race 8

(7) GREAT SOUL drops down the class ladder and figures to awaken. (5) ST PETE STAR has arguably been facing tougher lately at Pocono. (6) REMISSIONOFSINS was a good second at this level two starts back. (4) ONESPORTONLY has raced well in both starts with Gingras in the bike.

Race 9

(5) LIFETIME PURSUIT is the queen of this division right now. Hambo Oaks winner is far and away the one to beat. (3) TAKE THE MONEY gets a barn change to Ron Burke. We’ve seen this stable wake horses up in the past. (7) DESIGNED TO BE is a very talented filly but could be hurt by the outside post.

Race 10

(1) MCWICKED is certainly the most accomplished colt in this field. Is he a complete lock? No. But he really figures to win. (7) SOMEWHERE IN L A has won both of his starts at Philly and couldn’t be much sharper. (2) SOMETIMES SAID is another red hot foe. He has an upset shot with the right trip. (3) LIMELIGHT BEACH should be firing off the gate.

Race 11

(7) FATHER PATRICK had a couple of bumps in the road recently but got right back on track in last week’s Zweig. I still believe he is the best 3YO trotter in the nation. (8) NUNCIO is a quality opponent who looks clearly second best. (1) DATSYUK has a shot at second if one of the top two has a bad trip.

Race 12

(3) BEACH GAL has yet to win the big one yet but seems just as fast as (1) SANDBETWEENURTOES and will clearly offer a better price. The latter is perfect in eight 2014 starts; one to beat. (7) WEEPER was freshened up and should be flying off the wings of the gate.

Race 13

(5) P H SUPERCAM finds a good spot and should be handled aggressively. (2) SPARKY MARK has a bit of seconditis but is clearly a player. (7) ATTA BOY DAN only needs a smooth trip to menace.

Race 14

(2) ULTIMATE BEACHBOY doesn’t face a very tough field and should get the job done. (5) SECOND WIND N has been fairly consistent but can’t seem to get over the hump. (7) SANTANA ONE gets a class break but only has one win on the year.
