The 2017 edition of the Goshen Yearling Sale was held on Sunday afternoon at the Mark Ford Training Center in Middletown, New York, and the average was up 17.8% over last year's sale. The top-seller on the day was HIP 18 Zekefromcabincreek, a So Surreal colt who went to Ken Jacobs for $50,000.  Zekefromcabincreek, who was bred by Steve Jones and was consigned by Cameo Hills Farm, is out of the The Panderosa mare Love The Game ($233,909), making him a brother to three six-figure earners, topped by Beautiful Lady (Rocknroll Hanover, $296,765). HIP 9 L Dees Trump, an Explosive Matter colt, led the way for trotters, fetching $44,000 from Tracy Brainard.  Bred by Carlo Lattinelli and Dumain Haven Farm and consigned by Cameo Hills Farm, L Dees Trump is out of the Donato Hanover mare L Dees Cashmere, a half-sister to LDees Creditreport (Credit Winner, $208,157) and a three-quarter sister to Plan B In HD (Andover Hall, $200,364). Another notable yearling to go through the ring was HIP 35 Captain Miraculous.  The first offspring of Captaintreacherous offered at public auction, he was sold to Anthony MacDonald's thestable.ca for $35,000.  Also bred by Steve Jones and consigned by Cameo Hills Farm, Captain Miraculous is out of Please Me Please (Camluck, $756,328), which makes him a half-brother to five six-figure earners, including Rockin Finish (Rocknroll Hanover, $545,993). 110 yearlings were sold during the session, so while the number sold dropped from last year (153), the average increased from $12,158 in 2016 to $14,323 in 2017.
