Harness: Sharp Horses and Track Trends from May 16 - May 18

NORTHFIELD

 

5/18: 7w, no bias

5/17: 8w, + speed

5/16: 5w, no bias

RECKONING DAY -

Left and was parked the mile forcing a fast pace, tough trip but held okay

MISS PANTHERS -

Trotter had post 7, followed tiring cover, had to move three wide approaching the three quarters and finished with solid trot to nail down the place from a tough spot

 

HOOSIER

 

5/18: 5w, no bias

5/17: 2w, + closers

5/16: 3w, + closers

THE DATE ROCKER -

Was 10 lengths behind at the quarter, followed cover, made up 10 lengths, lost cover nearing the half, took the lead, excusably weakened, only lost by a length

ART AGAIN -

8th at the quarter and on the move, gained ground sharply to the half, brushed to the lead past the half, weakened but held well for the show

ENOCH -

Was far back in second career start, followed cover, rallied boldly for the win, last quarter in :26 1/5

 

HARRINGTON

 

5/18: 4w, no bias

5/17: 1w, + closers, sloppy track

5/16: 4w, no bias, closers did better than usual

AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL -

Was first over a long way, pressed a :28 2/5 third quarter, was shaken off, held okay

COASTER*** -

Had post 7, was third over at the half, stormed three wide at the three quarters, gained ground rapidly while three wide on the final turn, took the lead late on the turn, drew clear in the stretch in a strong effort

RENEGADE BOB -

Was 6th at the quarter, moved out early on the second turn on a long first over bid, met the leader at the half, battled gamely to the wire to miss by only a length

SIMPLE SAVER -

Had post 8, pulled into turn two and rushed up boldly, moved three wide off the turn and swept past horses, was three wide part of turn three then settled in the two path to challenge for the lead, tired on the final turn

FLYING NUN -

Left from post 6 and tucked 4th, went first over to challenge and held well for the show

 

PHILADELPHIA

 

5/18: 4w, no bias

MYSTERY ISLAND*** -

Had post 8, moved at the quarter, gained some ground then ducked back in at the half, was shuffled back to 8th again, swung out in the stretch and finished fast for the show

 

POCONO

 

5/17: 5w, no bias

5/16: 3w, no bias

SAIL TO THE BEACH -

Left and had a tough parked-out trip forcing a fast pace, excusably tired

SOUTHWIND TRINI -

Left and had a tough parked-out trip, pushed the 3/5 shot, held gamely for the show

 

THE MEADOWS

 

5/18: 5w, no bias

5/17: 5w, no bias

5/16: 4w, no bias

MY THREE GIRLS -

Left well from post 9, was parked to the quarter for the lead, yielded to the 2/5 winner at the half and was a game second

SOUTHWIND ROULETTE*** -

Was third at the half, went first over with authority, powered to the lead with a :26 3/5 third quarter brush and drew off to an impressive win

TSM PHOTO BUGGER -

Trotter left slowly from post 8, gained steadily then brushed to the lead at the half, yielded to pressure from the sharp 1/2 winner and excusably tired

 

MONTICELLO

 

5/18: 7w, + speed

5/17: 2w, no bias

5/16: 3w, no bias

NATURAL BREEZE -

Was 7th at the quarter, grinded into contention first over from a tough spot and finished with solid pace for the show

FOX VALLEY LEO -

Left from post 5 and was parked the mile without cover, challenged the even money favorite and held well for the show

SUITS -

Left from post 7 and was used hard to clear past the quarter, rated the pace and had something left to draw off

 

YONKERS

 

5/17: 5w, no bias

5/16: 2w, no bias

BLACK WIDOW BABY -

Peaking 4yo was close up then went first over and drew off full of pace

FASHION DELIGHT -

Left well from post 8, was parked to the lead in :27 3/5, set the pace and gave way grudgingly to the pocket horse late
