Was second over behind poor cover and a very slow pace, rallied wide to an easy win

BIG BRAD -

Left from post 7 and was parked to the lead in :27, yielded to the sharp 2/5 winner, chased a hot pace and held okay for the show

FRISKIE FLICKER -

Left from post 6, was looped to the lead but brushed up to take control past a :27 opener, set a quick clip and drew off to win in a romp

 

MAYWOOD

MAKE IT WORK -

Left well and was used hard to get the lead in :26 4/5, set the pace under heavy pressure and excusably tired

SLEIGH BELLE -

Power-brushed to the lead at the half making up 10 lengths in the second quarter, yielded to the strong pressure of the winner and held okay

PAYDAZE ON THE WAY -

Left alertly, yielded, was shuffled back to 5th and finished well to miss narrowly

SONOFA SIZZLE -

Left and tucked, went first over and drew clear in a strong performance

NOVA ARTIST -

Classy horse, now 8 years old, was three-star ranked on this list last week and went first over into a :26 4/5 third quarter and drew clear in the stretch at respectable 9/5 odds

GUNS AN ROSES -

Left and tucked, hustled up first over, pushed a :27 2/5 third quarter against the bias-aided front runner, was shaken off but held okay

BANDOLITO -

Blasted to the lead in :25 3/5, went to the half in :54 and tacked on a :54 1/5 last half to win by 9 lengths in a vicious 1:48 1/5 mile

JUST A JOLT -

Left from post 8 and tucked 4th, went first over, paced a :26 2/5 third quarter and held well for the place

NEW PATROL*** -

Followed weak cover from post 8, stormed wide on the final turn and drew off full of pace, last quarter in :26 3/5

 

NORTHFIELD

CLEAR CHARACTER*** -

Left from post 7 and was used hard to a :27 1/5 first quarter, remained parked uncovered and held gamely for the show

STONE OF MAGIC -

Had post 7, got stuck behind poor cover, rallied three wide on the final turn and finished gamely for the show, last quarter in :29 3/5

ROCK SONG -

Had post 10 and was far back, followed cover 4th over, finished strongly for the win

RA RA STEVEN*** -

Was 10th, 15 lengths behind early, followed weak cover and finished strongly for the place, last quarter in :26 2/5

STABLE EYES -

Followed cover 4th over and finished strongly for the place to be second best

BLISSFULL ROMANCE*** -

Left from post 8 and tucked 6th, was shuffled back to 8th, followed weak cover and finished boldly for the place, last quarter in :25 4/5

FASHION ROCKER -

Left alertly from post 6, yielded, was shuffled back, cleared late with pace

3/27: 2w, + closers, more tiring than usual for opening day, especially when you compare it to the normal speed favoring track profile that this track has

STEUBEN PATRIOT -

Left from post 7 and was parked the mile without cover, held well considering

O' SUNDLAND -

Left strongly, set a blazing pace of a :53 3/5 half, didn't tire that badly

HEDGES LANE*** -

Left from post 7 and was parked the mile without cover, held gamely for the show

SUPER S YZERMAN -

6th at the half, was hurt by poor cover, rallied three wide on the final turn and finished solidly to finish a game third, two necks behind the winner

BROWNSVILLE BOMBER -

Left from post 10 and was used hard to clear the lead past the half, set the pace under pressure from there and didn't tire that badly

CANDY STYX N -

Rushed up to challenge approaching the half, paced a :54 3/5 middle-half while unable to clear the lead and excusably tired

BREAKIN THE LAW -

Left from post 8, followed horses, lost cover at the half, took the lead at the five eighths, was pressured, gave up the lead in mid-stretch; game second to a sharp repeat winner

J M JET SET -

Left and was parked to the quarter for the lead, yielded, brushed back to the lead past the half, paced a :27 2/5 third quarter, got leg weary late but held the place gamely
