STATE STREET LIZ -

Left to the early lead, yielded at the half, brushed back to the lead, only lost by 2 lengths

 

MAYWOOD

HYD-DAT SHOOTER -

Was 4th over behind a weak flow of cover, rallied wide around the final turn and finished strongly for the place

 

NORTHFIELD

Left from post 7 and was parked the mile without cover pressing the pace, held the show

 

HOOSIER

TIME TO CELEBRATE -

Was 10th at the half, followed cover and finished strongly in :26 to get up for the win

MASTERS CHAMPION -

Left strongly to the lead in :26, yielded, was shuffled back to 5th after lead changes, followed cover, lost cover before the three quarters, held well considering the trip

ALWAYS ABOUT KATEY -

10th at the three quarters, finished fast in :26 flat

OUR LUCKY CHIP -

Left from post 8 as one of several leavers and was used hard to clear the lead, set a brisk pace and was a game second behind the sharp 6-5 favorite

JUSTICE JET -

Left from post 9 and tucked 5th, was shuffled back to 8th, finished well for the show

CALL OF THE WEST -

Went first over pacing a :27 1/5 third quarter, weakened but held okay in an improved effort; price factor in exotics

WOMAN OF TERROR*** -

Had post 8, followed cover and finished sharply to just miss

TOMS TITAN -

Left from post 8 and was used hard to clear past a :26 opener, set a pressured pace and held well for the place behind the pocket-sitting favorite

HUNGER GAMES -

Went first over, made up 6 lengths in a tough grind over a track that strongly favored horses that were sitting first or second, held gamely for the show

SOMEWHERE IN L A -

Left and tucked, went first over into a quick last half and held okay in a close finish

JACKED UP -

Left in :26 3/5, yielded and was shuffled to 4th, found room along the pylons in mid-stretch and had a lot left to get up for a sharp win

RECKLESS RIC -

Left and was parked to the lead in :26 3/4, yielded, brushed back to the lead, set the pace and held gamely for the place behind the sharp 3/5 winner

MATTIE TERROR GIRL -

Was one of several leavers and took the lead past a hot :53 2/5 half, took on pressure and gave way grudgingly to the classy 4/5 favorite late in a game effort

WESTERN EMPRESS -

Was one of several leavers and was parked to the lead in :27 2/5, yielded, was shuffled, swung out when clear in the lane and finished gamely for the show

ARTSPEAK -

Good looking 2yo followed sluggish cover, tipped wide in mid-stretch and was full of pace to draw clear with an impressive burst of speed while confidently handled

STACIA HANOVER -

Left from post 8 and tucked 4th, brushed to the lead at the half and drew clear under mild urging to take another

HE'S WATCHING*** -

Left from post 9, was wide briefly into the turn then tucked 5th, followed cover and kept up easily despite quick fractions, tipped wide in mid-stretch and drew clear confidently

SICILY*** -

2yo drew post 10 in debut, left and tucked off turn one, followed cover third over, tipped wide in mid-stretch and narrowed in gamely, home in :26 4/5 in a promising effort

BIG JER -

Had post 1 and kept up well to a quick first quarter, brushed to the lead at the half that went in :53 3/5, drew off impressively in the stretch

YOUR SO VAIN*** -

4yo was making his first start of the year and first for Ake Svanstedt, had the rail, squeezed out behind cover off the first turn, was 8th while third over down the back, roared three wide gobbling up ground boldly in a backside trotting blitz reminiscent of the great Ourasi's monster move in the 1988 March of Dimes Trot, swooped to command approaching the half, took on pressure but drew clear impressively in the stretch

CREATINE -

Left and was three wide around the first turn, brushed up to challenge down the back while uncovered, was passed by Your So Vain, finally found the pylons at the five eighths pole, weakened in the stretch but held okay considering the trip at 1 1/8 miles

SANDBETWEENURTOES -

Followed cover down the back, lost cover and took a few bad steps, was held together nicely by Brett Miller, continued up on a strong first over bid, took the lead in mid-stretch and held sway under confident nudging in a big effort

 

MONTICELLO

LATE NITE FLIGHT -

Had post 7, followed cover third over and finished sharply for the place

PANCETTA -

Was 8th at the half 4th over behind poor cover, finished powerfully to take the lead but was nipped by the pocket horse late in a sharp effort
