Made two moves to the lead in a quick half, yielded to the winner and held well

TOPVILLE CASHMYWAY -

Left and yielded, was badly shuffled behind a tiring horse and had late pace

RUFFY'S DESIRE -

Was 10th and far back early, finished sharply to get the show in a solid debut

KILLEAN CUT KID -

Left from post 9 and was used hard to clear in :26 2/5, set a fast pace until yielding at the three quarters and tired in a race that set up for closers

SHOOTER'S DREAM*** -

Power-brushed to the lead at the half then ripped off a :26 2/5 third quarter, drew away

FREAKY FEET PETE*** -

2yo left from post 10 and tucked 6th, followed cover while gaining a lot of ground, lost cover at the half, ranged up first over and drew off impressively

DAPPER DUDE -

Blasted to the lead in :25 3/5, rated a quick pace and gave way grudgingly late

DON'T SPANK ME*** -

Had post 9 and was 10th early, followed cover 5th over, rallied three wide around the final turn gaining ground rapidly and finished gamely to just miss, last quarter :26 1/5

 

PHILADELPHIA

8/10: 7w, + speed

8/8: 8w, + speed

8/7: 5w, + speed

FIRST OF ITSKIND -

Was second over, brushed three wide at the three quarters as his cover expired, finished sharply for the place to be second best to the bias-aided 2-5 winner

SOMEWHERE IN L A -

Classy sort left, tucked, went first over and paced a 53 3/5 last half to draw off

SIMPLE SAVER N -

Saved ground from post 7 and finished well against the speed bias

MONTENEGRO -

Had post 7, rushed up first over, paced a strong middle-half while pressing the sharp 2-5 winner and held gamely for the show

DRY GULCH*** -

Left from post 6 and was parked to a :26 4/5 opener while forced to tuck second, was shuffled to 3rd after lead changes and pulled first over, pressed the leader, weakened on the final turn but held gamely considering the trip and ended up 4th beaten 5 lengths

SPARKY MARK -

Was first over against favored Abelard Hanover, paced a :53 3/5 last half and was a game second a neck behind the favorite

GALLANT MAJOR -

8th at the half, moved out 4th over, followed cover wide around a tiring horse, was three wide around the turn and finished sharply to just miss, paced his last half in :54 4/5

KEN KAM -

Was 8th early, made a long first over bid, gained 14 lengths through the middle-half, challenged for the lead and held gamely for the show, less than a length behind winner

 

POCONO

8/10: 6w, + speed

8/9: 6w, + speed

8/8: 5w, + speed, leavers did very well

AMERICAN VENTURE -

Pulled at the half and flushed out cover to be third over, roared three wide around the final turn, swooped to the lead and drew off while pacing a :54 3/5 last half

COLONIAL ROAD -

Had post 8, followed cover and finished well against the bias from a tough spot

COLBY JATE -

Left from post 8 and was used hard to get the lead at the half in :53, raced under pressure from there and held gamely for the win

SUMMER CAMP -

Was first over chasing a tough bias-aided 6-5 shot in a 1:48 2/5 mile and held gamely

Trotter left and had a tough trip parked-the-mile without cover, held well

Had post 8, followed cover down the back, swung wide late on the final turn and finished fast to miss narrowly

Had post 7, followed cover third over, rallied three wide around the final turn and finished sharply for the place while racing against the post and speed bias
