Harness: Ron Burke reaches $150 million mark at Northfield

Email

Trainer Ron Buke has raced at just about every racetrack along the east coast and the one thing that is constant, he knows how to win.

Burke eclipsed the $150 million dollar mark at Northfield Park on Monday night taking the co-featured Open Trot with Barn Girl.  Barn Girl raced a majority of her starts in the New York Sire Stakes last year and in late 2015 was sold to Ron Burke.  Since bringing Barn Girl to Northfield she has set the track record for 4-year-old mares and is unbeaten in 2016.

Ron Burke started his training career in 1992 where he immediately took off, hitting the board in 229 of his 560 starts that season.  Since 2009, Burke has been over the $10 million mark in earnings training some of the sports top horses.  One of the top horses that Burke has trained is Foiled Again, who has won the Battle of Lake Erie at Northfield three times and has over seven million dollars in earnings.

Ron Burke has over 30,000 career training starts and has won 6,809 of those starts.
