Harness Racing: Sharp Horses and Track Trends for Feb. 7-10, 2013

2/7: 4w, no bias

OUZO - Had post 7 and was 10 lengths behind early, gained 7 lengths through the middle-half and continued to the wire with sharp pace finishing in :29 3/5

2/10: 7w, + speed

2/9: 5w, no bias, closers on outside did better

2/7: 4w, + speed, outside paths bad again, races dominated by leavers and horses racing along the pylons

FIFTEEN FOUR N - Left, tucked, went first over into a quick middle-half and held okay

BIG BAD ELI*** - Quarter-moved from his post 9 second tier spot but got strung out forcing a fast pace, only lost by 2 lengths

KLONOPAN*** - 4yo sliced more than 2 seconds off his best time in his 2nd start of the year, quarter-moved from post 8 pacing a :27 3/5 second quarter to take the lead and drew off

REALIST - Left from post 6 and was used hard to clear in :26 4/5, set a quick pace and only lost by a length in a solid effort

CAMS ART - Had a long first over trip from the second tier and didn't tire that badly

VALID EXPECTATION - Had post 6 and lost ground behind a gapper early, pulled at the quarter 11 lengths back and followed cover third-over gaining at every call, finished willingly from a tough spot

GRITTY MILLIE BOY - Was hung the mile and forced the pace against a sharp bias-aided front runner, held okay

2/8: 5w, no bias

ROCKRATESE - Beaten at 3-5 odds but got parked the mile leaving from post 6 and stuck behind a tiring horse, had to go three wide at the half, grinded first over and just missed

2/8: 6w, no bias, windy

Y-DAT - Trotter left and was parked to the half for the lead, drew off impressively

2/9: 5w, + speed

ANGLE OF ATTACK - Left from post 7 and was cooked in a speed duel with the even money favorite; automatic play with a switch to a catch driver

2/8: 3w, no bias, snow, sloppy track

2/7: 2w, no bias

DYSNOMIA BLUE CHIP - Left and was three wide to the quarter, could not clear and remained parked uncovered, held well considering

2/9: 3w, no bias, tailwinds

2/7: 4w, no bias

VEAL MARSALA*** - Left and yielded, was shuffled and boxed, searched for room in the lane, cleared late and finished well

CASINO KING - Paced a :54 3/5 middle-half taking the lead at the half with a brush and held okay

LOVE YOU BYE - Left and yielded, appeared headstrong and broke badly while trying to bull her way out down the backtretch, galloped on a wild break and fell far back, recovered and showed good speed to catch the field and get within 3 lengths of the lead before flattening out

CEE CEE PANIC - First up into the wind, paced a :27 2/5 third quarter and held well

YO CHEYENNE ROCKY - Blasted to the lead in :26 2/5, shook off pressure while setting the pace into the wind and held sway gamely in a sharp effort

2/7: 5w, + speed

COLLAGE*** - Uncorked a bold first over move pacing a :27 third quarter and drew off

*** = extra-sharp preferred plays
