While the future is now for the Hambletonian finalists, 39 rookie pacers and trotters will face their first true tests in four rich events at the Meadowlands on Saturday. The 2-year-old action begins with the filly pacers in the $268,300 Sweetheart final. Two undefeated ladies are signed on, both 3 for 3 on the year. Nikki Beach, a daughter of first-year sire Somebeachsomewhere, is certain to be the favorite come post time. The $90,000 Lexington Selected purchase rode a perfect trip to set a career mark of 1:52 in a prep for trainer Tony Alagna. The talented filly will start from post 2 with Brian Sears in the bike. The Joe Holloway-trained Shebestingin is the other perfect youngster. The Bettor’s Delight-Armbro Tussle product who was a $55,000 yearling purchase, has already made back most of that investment.  Despite coming off a six-length romp in the Tompkin Geers at Tioga Downs, she will have her work cut out for her from post 10. An interesting longshot in the bunch could be Cult Status. The first foal out of $376,773-earning mare Shake That Junk was a fast-closing second behind Nikki Beach in last week’s prep. She will start from post 4 with the meet’s leading driver Tim Tetrick at the controls. [HAMBLETONIAN: Watch race previews, see Saturday's full card LIVE] The $309,050 Woodrow Wilson final, an open pacing event for first-year budding stars, features a talented group of potential Meadowlands Pace or North America Cup winners. The highly touted Captaintreacherous leads the Wilson field. Another Somebeachsomewhere youngster, the $250,000 yearling purchase posted a 1:52 2/5 victory last week. That mile could be just the tip of the iceberg for the Tony Alagna trainee. Starting two posts to his outside in the seven hole is Delaware Hanover. One of the more active colts early in the season, with four starts under his belt so far, the son of Dashaway Hanover is a half-brother to three $250,000 earners, her only other foals. Delaware Hanover has one up on his siblings, as he was purchased for $80,000, four times more than any of his brothers and sisters. From a breeding angle alone, Source Of Pride deserves a long look in the final. The full brother to $1.19 million earner and world-record holder American Jewel, was sold for $280,000 last October. Source Of Pride enters the Wilson off an impressive three-plus win in the Reynolds series at the Meadowlands and a successive qualifier two weeks ago. The Jimmy Takter-trained colt will have to overcome post 9 and acclimate to new driver Ron Pierce as Tetrick has opted to drive Captaintreacherous. The filly trotters take center stage in the $354,450 Merrie Annabelle and are led by a potentially special young lady. To Dream On has demolished her competition in each of her three trips to the track. Her most recent triumph was a 10-plus length 1:54 2/5 victory in last week’s elimination. The $200,000 Harrisburg yearling purchase tied the track record set by current Hambletonian Oaks favorite Check Me Out in last year’s Merrie Annabelle final. To Dream On will take her shot at a solo spot as the fastest-ever freshman filly trotter in East Rutherford as she leaves from post 4 on Saturday.[bc_video_id:258793:] To Dream On is not the only talented and well-bred trotter signed on to the Merrie Annabelle. Lady Riviera (post 2), a winner of two races in four tries, is a half-brother to Nat Ray standout Chapter Seven.  Raring To Go S (post 1) was the other elimination winner last week when she scored in 1:55 4/5.[bc_video_id:258794:] Wrapping up the quartet of stakes for 2-year-olds is the $387,250 Peter Haughton Memorial for colt and gelding trotters. Perhaps it is fitting that this marquee event for future Hambletonian hopefuls would go to post just a few races before that $1.5 million final. The most accomplished colt in the bunch is Major Athens. The son of Andover Hall has won three straight for trainer Rich Gillock, the last with Saturday’s driver Brian Sears in the bike. Because of his elimination victory, his connections were allowed to choose their post and elected for the rail.[bc_video_id:258795:] Fellow elimination winner Dewycolorintheline starts just to his outside in the final. He is one of two talented colts (Caveat Emptor) sent out by trainer Ray Schnittker, who won the 2008 Hambletonian with their sire Deweycheatumnhowe.[bc_video_id:258801:] Trainers Jim Campbell and Takter also have two colts apiece in the Haughton. The Fab Four events for the 2-year-olds are slated as races 5 through 8 on the Meadowlands card. They also make up three-quarters of the $50,000-guaranteed pick four that begins in race 6. Post time for the 15-race card is 12 p.m.
