Harness racing officials, owners, trainers, drivers, communicators, breeders, vendors and fans can now register to be part of the Harness Racing Congress VI that will convene in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from Thursday, February 28, through Monday, March 4. The sixth industry congress is being co-hosted by four major harness racing organizations, Harness Horsemen International (HHI), Harness Tracks of America (HTA), the United States Harness Writers Association (USHWA) and the United States Trotting Association (USTA). The congress will meet at the Westin Beach Resort & Spa on A1A in Fort Lauderdale. Registration is being handled by USHWA for those people in the industry that are not affiliated with HTA, HHI or are a director with the USTA. The fee to attend the two days of forum sessions is $125 per person and includes breakfast and lunch on both Saturday and Sunday (Sunday’s luncheon will also feature some award presentations), and also includes the two-hour networking cocktail party Saturday night. Registration for the congress including a ticket to attend the USHWA Dan Patch Awards Dinner on Sunday night, March 3, is $250 per person. Tickets to attend only the USHWA Dan Patch Awards Dinner Sunday are $125 per person. Tables of ten are available. The two mornings for the special panel forums are Saturday, March 2, and Sunday, March 3, from 8 a.m. to noon. Topics include: Medication & Penalties; Global Issues; Social Media; Legislative Issues, Racinos, and Innovative Ideas. Details on these topics and a list of guest speakers will be announced soon.
