The 2017 Ohio Selected Jug Sale was held on Friday at the Brave Horse Show Park in Johnstown, and it was headed by HIP 71 Tu Eres Mi Corazon, a half-sister to undefeated New York Sire Stakes standout Fourth Dimension. Consigned by Springhaven Farm and Doug Millard Holdings USA, Tu Eres Mi Corazon, a filly from the first crop of 2011 Breeders Crown 2-Year-Old Colt Trot champion and millionaire Uncle Peter (Cantab Hall), went to Burke Racing LLC. for $150,000.  She is the second foal out of the Muscle Hill mare Corazon Blue Chip, whose first foal Fourth Dimension (Chapter Seven) has won all four of his New York Sire Stakes starts and earned $81,750 in his rookie campaign. Also entering the six-figure column was HIP 52 Dragon Ruler, a colt who went to agent M.K. Bencic for $100,000.  From the next-to-last crop of the great Dragon Again, Dragon Ruler, consigned by Hunterton Sales Agency (agent for Willow Oak Ranch), is the first foal out of the Somebeachsomewhere mare Canary Island ($155,327).  She is a half-sister to Elusive Prey (Western Hanover, $802,706), Aba Daba Doo (Cam's Card Shark, $541,037) and Duneside Perch (Cam's Card Shark, $160,235). In all, 237 yearlings were sold for an average of $21,303.  For comparison, the last time this sale was held as a one-day event (2015), 255 horses fetched an average of $17,347.  The 2016 Ohio Selected Jug Sale was spread over two days (the first day saw 159 head sold for an average of $22,987).
