I Luv The Nitelife won 13 of 15 races in 2013.

The long anticipated return of pacer I Luv The Nitelife is imminent according to trainer Chris Ryder. The 2013 3-year-old pacing Filly of the Year is expected to enter an overnight race at Mohawk on Friday night (August 8).

I Luv The Nitelife went a training mile at the Meadowlands this past Friday (8/1) in 1:53 as she completes her return from a fractured right knee. Ryder couldn’t be happier with the way she is coming along.

“She seems like the horse of old,” said Ryder of her conditioning. “We have high hopes. We wouldn’t race her if we didn’t think she would perform.”

A daughter of Rocknroll Hanover-Lisjune, I Luv The Nitelife has career earnings of $1,943,287 through two years of racing for owners Richard and Joanne Young. She won the Fan Hanover, Mistletoe Shalee, Lynch Memorial, Jugette, and Breeders Crown while amassing a 15-13-1-1 record as a 3-year-old.

I Luv The Nitelife’s first stakes engagement of the year is expected to be in the eliminations for the Milton, an event for older pacing mares at Mohawk on September 13. The $270,000E final is scheduled for the following week.

Should all go as planned in 2014, Ryder added that the talented young lady will return for her 5-year-old season.

“We plan to race her next year. My man Richard (Young, owner) isn’t really into breeding,” said Ryder.

[UPDATE: I Luv The Nitelife entered at Mohawk and Pocono but the races did not fill.]
