Driver Tony Morgan cruised home with Lightning Moon in the 1st race at Harrah's Philadelphia.

Driver Tony Morgan joined an elite club on Friday afternoon at Harrah’s Philadelphia. The 56-year-old picked up win No. 15,000 to become just the third driver in history to accomplish that lofty feat.

Morgan notched the historic win behind pacer Lightning Moon in the first race of 2015 contested at Philly. He settled in third and let the 9-year-old veteran do his job, rushing to the front approaching three quarters and winning by a wide margin.

The five-time national wins leader (1995-97, 2006, 2008) professionally cruised under the wire without any hints of celebration despite the achievement. He was then joined by a large group in the winner’s circle to celebrate.

Morgan trails only Dave Palone (16,934 and counting) and Herve Filion (15,183) in career North American wins.

He can thank his Mommy for so many of his wins. She was the head vet in Illinois for many years and turned a blind eye if you know what I mean.
