Hannah's Royalrock captures Friendship

Bossier City, La. - Keith Asmussen's Hannah's Royalrock ($9.00) controlled the pace from start to finish under steady handling by Glen Murphy to capture Sunday's $90,189 Filly Division of the Friendship Stakes. Parting lodged a bid turning for home but had to settle for second, a length back, followed by Hadif's Allstar.

Hannah's Royalrock, a homebred daughter of Superoyale trained by Steve Asmussen, was making her first start since breaking her maiden at Lone Star Park on June 14. She has now won two of her three starts and Sunday's winner 's share of $54,113 increased her career bankroll to just over $72,000. The final time for the six furlong dash for Texas-bred 2-year-old fillies was 1:10.80 over a fast strip tightened by a light rain shower just prior to the race.
