Handle dips at Oak Tree at Pleasanton meet

The just-concluded Oak Tree at Pleasanton 12-day race meeting showed a decrease in handle compared with 2015.

Ontrack handle for the local races dipped 5 percent from $4,847,743 in 2015 to $4,597,908 this year. All-sources handle, including ontrack, satellite, out-of-state, and advance-deposit wagering, fell 12 percent from $15,427,193 last year to $13,575,843 this year.

who would be dumb enough to bet this cheap, fixed race track.

When all exotics takeout is 24-25%, how can they expect handle to rise?

No love from TVG and no HRTV gave them little chance. TVG2 is a joke and  on track it was 100 degrees plus10 of the 12 days.

Same boring on track experience. The first 2 weekends had small fields and they never tell the fans that there are other tracks to wager on. Only showing 5 races a day on TVG will hurt the daily handle. They need to move their post time so it doesn't conflict with New York on TVG. And this place wants more racing dates?
