Hamm sends out four for turf stakes

Ohio-bred 3-year-old fillies square off in the $50,000 Tomboy Stakes, which will be run on the turf at

1 1/16 miles. Trainer Tim Hamm has four of the 13 entered in this first stakes of the River Downs season.

Mini Mom, last year's Ohio 2-year-old filly champion, was a daylight winner of her last start locally. Littlebitabling won 3 of 5 races last year, including the Tah Dah Stakes locally. Reapingtherewards has been in the money in 8 of 11 lifetime starts. All will be coupled in the wagering and appear to be the ones to beat. Hamm's other starter is Spirit of Fire.

Cryptohio, trained by Doug Cowans, will try to keep her unbeaten string alive in her first stakes attempt. After a maiden victory by nearly 20 lengths at Beulah Park, she came back to win an open entry-level allowance locally by nearly eight lengths.

Pay the Man, trained by Miguel Feliciano, ships in after a victory in the six-furlong Angenora at Thistledown on April 21 and is the most recent stakes winner in the field.
