Hamm saddles top two in Tougaloo

NORTH RANDALL, Ohio - Trainer Tim Hamm holds a strong hand here on Sunday when he sends out a three-horse entry, including three-time stakes winner Ifufeelfroggyleap, in the $35,000 Tougaloo Stakes. The six-furlong race is for 3-year-old Ohio-bred fillies.

In her first start this year, Ifufeelfroggyleap tired to finish sixth, beaten 10 3/4 lengths, in Beulah Park's six-furlong Royal North Stakes. She could prove hard to catch in the Tougaloo. Under the allowance conditions of the race, she is highweighted at 120 pounds, and will be ridden by Julio Felix.

Another part of the entry, Kioski, has a strong late kick when sprinting and prepped for the race with a win in a 5 1/2-furlong allowance race here April 12. Kioski was stakes placed twice last year, once against the boys, and won a maiden race against males. She carries 116 and Felix is named to ride her, too.

Of the others, Dinkers Pride would appear to have the best chance of winning. Trained by Joe Shuman, she was second in two stakes last year and finished an even fifth behind Kioski in her seasonal debut on April 12. Dinkers Pride carries 114 pounds and Tony Caminita will ride.
